A bus overturned on Udaipur-Ahmedabad highway(NH8). One person died and 20 others got injured.

A private travels bus lost control and overturned on Udaipur- Ahmedabad highway on Wednesday night at Kagdar turn.  A youth died and 20 passengers got severely injured. The private travels bus was going from Nathdwara to Mumbai. It overturned after losing control as a result of which all passengers fell over each other and got injured.

There were a number of people near the accident spot. All of them rushed to help the passengers to safety. Window panes were broken to pull out the passengers. After first aid in Rishabhdev hospital, passengers were referred to MB hospital in Udaipur. A youth died in this accident. He is yet to be identified. His body has been kept in the community health centre.

Probably the bus lost control on the wet and slippery road. Virendra Jain of Udaipur was also travelling by the same bus. He said that he was going to Mumbai for some official work. He was busy working on his tab in the bus when suddenly the bus overturned.

There were cries and screams of passengers. Since no crane was available at that moment, some truck drivers tried to lift the bus by means of jacks. But the efforts failed since the bus was comparatively heavy. With great difficulty, passengers were pulled out of the bus, as reported by Rajesh Patel who was on his way to home around 6:45 p.m. and stopped by after seeing the accident.

Many people from the nearby area rushed immediately to the accident spot after hearing the sound of overturning bus. Police from Kherwara and Rishabhdev police stations and a few other administrative officers also reached the spot.
