A Swift car lost control and fell off the ghata at Ubeshwarji road. The car was going uphill when the engine suddenly failed and it started moving behind ultimately falling off the cliff. Two passengers, father and son, are safe though slightly injured.

A development officer with LIC of India, Shankar Lal (56), was on his way to Udaipur with son Mohit (27) in Swift car when the car’s engine failed while they were driving uphill. The car stopped and smoke started coming out of the engine. The father and son duo got scared and hurriedly tried to get out of the car. Mohit tried to stop the car as it started moving in reverse direction. Since the car gained speed while going downhill, Shankar Lal also tried to stop it and got dragged with son Mohit for almost 100 feet. Meanwhile they had managed to stay out of the car and were saved as the car gained more speed in reverse direction and fell down the cliff into the trench.

Police were informed who called for a crane to get the car out of the trench. Both father and son got slightly injured and have been admitted to hospital.
