A Maruti car was completely crushed in the front in an accident near Bhatevar on Udaipur-Chittorgarh highway today evening. A brother-sister duo in the car suffered serious injuries and were rushed to MB Hospital for treatment.

The brother-sister duo, hailing from Chittorgarh, were coming to Udaipur to meet their relative who was admitted in hospital in Udaipur. At road cross at Khokharwas near Bhatevar, car driver lost control while trying to manage the potholes on road and the car jumped the divider and went on the other side. The car hit the rear tyre of a trailer coming on the other side, tumbled twice and came back and hit the divider. The trailer driver, while trying to save the car, lost his control and jumped the divider and landed at the section where work is ongoing for six-laning of the highway. Thankfully there were no other vehicles on highway at that point in time else the accident could have been more severe.

The locals of the area said that the potholes in that section have resulted in many drivers losing control and demanded that NHAI carry out urgent repairs.

The injured in car were rushed to MB hospital. Bhatevar police had both the vehicles picked up with help of crane and placed in Bhatevar police station.
