Chittaurgarh, Sept 21, 2025: A tragic road accident on the Chittorgarh-Udaipur 6-lane highway claimed two lives in the early hours of Sunday, Sept 21. A speeding car seemingly rammed into a stationary container outside the Krishna Retaurant near the Hajyakhedi culvert (puliya), killing the passengers in the car. The deceased were identified to be a man and a woman from Gujarat.
Accident Details
According to Bhadesar Police Inspector Dharamraj Meena, the collision occurred around 5:15 a.m. The victims were traveling from Chittorgarh to Udaipur when their car struck a container parked along the roadside near Krishna Restaurant. The impact was so severe that the vehicle’s front end became lodged inside the container.
The loud crash alerted hotel staff and nearby villagers, causing a temporary traffic jam on the busy highway. Police officials, including ASI Nihal Singh, arrived on the spot and used a crane to separate the mangled car from the container. Both vehicles were removed to restore traffic flow.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified through their Aadhar cards as Dilip Kumar Pagi and Kinjal Bamaniya, residents of Chhota Udaipur, Gujarat. Their families have been informed, and the bodies are currently kept at the Chittorgarh District Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Police are in contact with the victims’ relatives, who will formally identify the bodies. The relationship between the deceased man and woman will also be confirmed once family members arrive.
Cause of the Accident
Preliminary investigation suggests that the accident may have been caused due to overtaking at high speed or the driver possibly dozing off in the early morning hours. The container driver had parked near the hotel with his vehicle positioned partly outside the lane, which may have contributed to the crash.
Both wrecked vehicles have been secured by the police for further investigation.
