In another incident of a heavy vehicle plying in restricted areas, a couple’s vehicle was run over by an overloading dumper in Badi village, killing the woman on the spot.

The incident occurred at 11am on Tuesday, when the couple, who have just relocated to Badi 6 months ago from Bhilwara, were riding on their two-wheeler to a temple in Badi to offer their prayers and seek blessing from their deity.  An overload dumper, filed with stones, was coming from the other direction when the vehicles came face to face in a narrow street.

Unable to control the heavy vehicle, the driver ran over the two-wheeler, thereby killing the woman on the spot.

Bhagwati Lal Maheshwari, the husband of deceased Manju Maheshwari was thrown away from the truck while Manju was locked in the wheels of truck thereby succumbing on impact itself.

Villagers of the area flocked to the location and after a three hour altercation with the Police, the body was allowed to be taken away for postmortem.

As per reports, this is not that first time that such an incident has happened, and though the Saheliyon ki Badi, Fatehpura Circle, Badi Road and Dewali Road are restricted to heavy traffic after 9am, such vehicles still ply, even under the watchful eyes of the law enforcers.  Villagers of the area have also complained that heavy trucks keep plying across the narrow streets of their villages, endangering the lives of people, especially children who play on the streets.

It is now for the citizens of town to take up this matter with the administration and law enforcers to ensure our safety.
