An incident of drowning was reported at Fatehsagar Lake in the early hours today morning.

People taking their early morning walk near the lake saw a body floating near the Irrigation Department office on PP Singhal Marg near Fatehsagar. An immediate alarm was raised and the Police was informed. A team from Ambamata Police station reached the spot and onlookers helped in taking the body out from the water.

ASI Indra Singh of the Ambamata Police station informed that the body was of Arvind Jain @34yrs, s/o Maanmal Jain, resident of Mahavir Complex, Hiran Magri Sector 11.

At the onset the incident seems to be that of suicide. As per information provided by the police, the family members confirmed that Arvind left home yesterday evening on his two wheeler at around 8pm and has been missing since then. The two wheeler, a Scooty, was also found lying near the Irrigation office, alongside which the floating body was recovered.

Currently the body has been kept in the mortuary for the regular post mortem procedure. Police is investigating the resons behind the assumed pre-meditated suicide.
