The Dy Pradhan of Sayra Village in Gogunda Tehsil of Udaipur district, Bharat Singh Barwada succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident late night yesterday.

As per the information given by the Gogunda Police, Bharat Singh was returning home late at night in his car, after attending a friends birthday party. It was around 1am on 9 December that his car was crushed on a the highway by a speeding oil tanker. The front section of the car was completely crushed and onlookers and residents of nearby areas informed the police. Bhagwat Singh Jhala of the HIghway Patrol team, a 108 Ambulance being driven by Sohan Singh and EMT Nandkishore arrived on the spot immediately. The Highway Patrol team and staff in the ambulance pulled out Bharat from the crushed car and took him to the district hospital in Udaipur, where Bharat succumbed to his injuries earlier today morning.

The Police has handed over the body of the deceased to the family and transferred the body to the mortuary for postmortem. On getting information, other leaders from the area as well as Congress leaders reached the hospital. The Police meanwhile have seized the tanker that was involved in the accident and are interrogating the driver of the tanker, who was also detained from the site of the accident.
