Fire in Dewali – No Casualties
This incident brings to notice that uncontrolled garbage cleaning can turn nasty and result in critical situations, which fortunately did not happen this time around
A massive fire broke out in an open compound in Dewali today morning at 10am.
The open compound, located in a highly concentrated residential area in Dewali was housing garbage that was accumulated over days.
In an attempt to burn out the garbage and clean the area, the fire turned nasty. There were sewerage pipes lying in the same compound, which were discounted by those trying to burn out the garbage.
The masive fire, resulted in black smoke rising as high as the Neemuchmata temple. Firefighting equipment was called in from UMC and three vehicles needed to reach the area to douse out the fire, which was put out by 1045am.
