A flour mill in Kaladwas area went ablaze on Saturday afternoon.

There was an explosion in the Govindam flour mill in Kaladwas in RIICO industrial area as a result of which the 3 storeyed flour mill got completely destroyed and 2 of the mill workers received severe burns. The incident took place around 3:30 in the afternoon.

It was reported that a big flour sieve is attached to the mill through which smoke along with flour is thrown upwards. Since the chimney hasn’t been cleaned for a very long time, it was blocked. The flour and smoke got deposited to a great extent and caused the explosion. The entire wall of the building got destroyed. Almost 7 to 8 labours were inside the mill who ran for their lives. Two of these who received severe burns are Subhash s/o Krishnandan Singh of Bihar and Saddam s/o Fakhruddin of Jaipur. The victims were somehow pulled out of the fire and rushed to hospital.

On hearing the sound of explosion, everyone from the RIICO area rushed to the spot. ASI Rajendra Singh Ranawat of Hiranmagri Police Station with his team and 2 fire brigade vehicles also reached the spot. After about half an hour of tremendous efforts, fire could be controlled. The explosion threw out the sacks of flour and gram flour all around. A case has been registered against mill owner Manish Agrawal for negligence which caused risk to the life of the mill workers.
