Furniture and other store items including eatables worth more than Rs. 3 lakh were destroyed in a fire at Jain Restaurant in Hiran Magri.

According to sources, early in the morning yesterday, cleaning workers informed Rakesh, owner of the restaurant about smoke coming out of his restaurant. Rakesh rushed to the scene and so did the fire brigade.

Two gas cylinders were promptly taken out from the restaurant, preventing any large scale mishap.

Rakesh has filed an FIR against unknown persons and also pointed out that this could have been executed by unnamed persons, who were involved in an incident that occurred in the restaurant 6 months back.

Rakesh also complained about gatherings outside liquor stores long after 8 PM every night in the area. Police is looking into the case.
