Fire reported at MLSU
Dry bushes at the hillock close to College of Law (MLSU) caught fire today afternoon due to unknown reasons. The fire soon spread in the vast area due to wind but later controlled by 4 fire brigade vehicles.
Dry bushes at the hillock close to College of Law (MLSU) caught fire today afternoon due to unknown reasons. The fire soon spread in the vast area due to wind but later controlled by 4 fire brigade vehicles.
No casualties were reported in the incident, however, a concern among the students and MLSU administration was noted.
According to sources, a few students first noticed the fire and informed fire station. Moderate flames were spreading in the dry bushes adjacent to the Swarn Gate Road.
The first two vehicles of fire brigade could not control the situation and more help was called, after a few minutes, approximately 6 fire vehicles responded to the situation, of which, four vehicles managed to take over the situation after nearly 2 hours of rescue work.
Jai Singh, Fire Assistant Officer said, “We controlled the fire but it took us two hours to do so, because it was spreading rapidly due to flow of wind.” When asked about the possible reason, Singh said that it could be due to spark caused by electricity wires passing through the small hill.
