Udaipur: Three Killed, 30 Injured in Tragic Accident on Gogunda Highway

All injured were transported to hospitals in Gogunda and Udaipur via the ambulances as well as via private vehicles

Udaipur, Mar 01, 2026: A tragic road accident on the Gogunda - Jhadol state highway at Majawad near Udaipur, led to the death of 3 people including a minor. The accident happened on Sunday morning when an out of control pickup vehicle crashed into a tree on the roadside, completely wrecking the vehicle. The area falls under the Gogunda police station area of Udaipur district.

Three people, including a minor died on the spot, while nearly 30 people were injured. 13 of the injured are children and 12 are said to be critical condition at the time of writing this news.

Victims

As per police, the deceased were identified as Pankaj Gameti, Lakhmaram Gameti and nemichand Gameti - all residents of Modwa village. Eyewitnesses said that more than 50 passengers were travelling in the vehicle and the impact was so severe that several passengers were thrown out of the vehicle, some falling into a nearby ditch.

Response by Police and Health Department

The Gogunda police got into action as soon as the information was received and ambulance teams rushed to the spot. Local villagers assisted the medics and police in their rescue operations. All injured were transported to the nearest hospital in Gogunda via the ambulances as well as via private vehicles.

  • Despite the high number of injured, coordinated medical efforts ensured timely primary care.
  • Critically injured patients were referred to District Hospital Udaipur for advanced treatment.
