Maharashtra CM Helicopter crashes – all safe on board

The helicopter carrying Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis crashed on Thursday morning, a minute after take off, causing alarm in the area.

CM Fadnavis was in Latur in Maharashtra to take part in the BJP farmer campaign, Shivar Samwad Sabha.  When his helicopter took off from the helipad, it was barely a few meter off the ground, when it crashed following a technical snag.

There was no casualty however and the CM tweeted later confirming that the helicopter had crashed, but there was no injury and all on board were safe.  He said though, that his media advisor, Ketan Pathak did sustain some minor injuries.

The helicoptor was new and the CM said that he will take a police report on the incident.  While the helicopter took to the air, the wind speed was high, but immediately after, the wind speed reduced.  The helicopter, while crashing touched a high tension cable, though the pilot had tried to avoid it.
