Udaipur, Aug 15, 2025: A tragic incident in Pathar Padi village in Udaipur's tribal belt of Kotra, led to the death of a girl and injuries to another when an under construction overhang of a government school collapsed. The school building was under repair as the structure was in bad shape.
As per the police, two girls were grazing goats in the premises, when the structure failed and collapsed on them. One girl died immediately while the other has been seriously injured and taken to hospital for treatment. The incident sparked community outrage over suspected use of substandard material. The police launched an investigation, while education officials confirmed that the school wasn't operating on that site.
In a separate occurrence in Bundi, five students were injured due to a false ceiling collapse at St. Paul Senior Secondary School during an Independence Day program, prompting a swift response from local officials. Injured have been moved to hospital for treatment at the time of publishing this post.
