A picnic turned out to be a misfortune for the family when a 15-year-old boy drowned in Chhota Madar today afternoon.  The body of the victim was found after one and half hour of rescue and search operation

Mohammad Iliyas (15) was the only child of Mohammad Yunus, an auto rickshaw driver and resident of Malla Talai.  The family lost their only child as he drowned into Chota Madar Talab today afternoon.

According to police, Mohammad Ilyas went to Chhota Madar for a picnic with his uncle’s family.

While enjoying in the water, Ilyaas slipped off into the deeper zone of Chhota Madar where he eventually drowned.  After a while, when the family realized that Ilyaas is not around, they searched for him and later informed the police.

Ambamata Police along with a team of divers came to the scene and launched the search.  After nearly one and half hours, divers found the body of Ilyas.

Ilyas was a student of 10^th Standard and the only son of family.  His father drives and auto-rickshaw and the family stays at Sajjan Nagar, Malla Talai.

The body was subsequently shifted to the mortuary and after the postmortem it was handed over to the family.
