Private construction in bylanes creates road jam for commuters and residents

Residents of Shanti Niketan Colony, off the Bedla Badgain link road are aggrieved with the bylanes becoming store houses for construction material.

While road construction and public areas are already littered with contruction material, viz, sand, concrete, etc making commuting difficult in various parts of the city, a similar problem is being faced by private residence owners as well in their colonies.

A report given by a resident of the Shanti Niketan colony, which is located on the Bedla Badagon link road shows how shamelessly the public road is being used to stack up construction material by individual home owners, as they crop the public roads in such a manner, that not only makes commuting difficult, but also dangerous, specially at night.

The authorities on being requested to look into the matter have given a deaf ear to the matter. We request the local authorities to ensure that such misuse of public roads is not made for private construction. If at all need be, the area can be made conducive to commuting comfortably.
