RSEB Refuses to Remove Dead Cow Electrocuted by Electric Pole

A cow was electrocuted to death after getting trapped on an electricity pole for over 5 hours yesterday, during the heavy rain session in the city.

This dreadful incident occurred at the Chungi Naka in Bhuvana, where an electric pole leaked current due to the heavy rainfall.

What turned out to be more appalling was when the residents called RSEB after they saw the animal in that situation. The RSEB, allegedly refused to act, saying that the Electricity Pole was under the purview of the UIT and they need to be called.

During interaction with the residents, we were informed that the pole is cause of major concern, as there is regular leakage from the structure. A resident staying near the pole, said that at times, during the rainy season, electric current flows into the house.

There is also a school near the pole, and to avoid the water pits on the road, the children go by the side lane, very near to the pole and can be electrocuted any time. Yesterday, at the time of the above mishap, the school was still running, or it could have been a couple of children electrocuted instead of the animal.
