A school bus overturned near Rajsamand. One child died on the spot and 10 others got injured.

In an incident near Rajsamand, a bus overturned when the driver tried to save the bus from colliding with a truck. Reportedly the steering of the school bus failed and the driver tried to control it but somehow hit the brakes. This caused the bus to overturn.

 The only point of relief is that the bus did not fall into the valley. It is sad that a child died under the bus and 10 others got injured. There were 20 students in the school bus. All the injured students were given first-aid in Charbhuja hospital. A seriously injured child was referred to MB hospital in Udaipur.

Public got agitated and blocked the traffic by using barbed fence and boulders. They protested against Kumbhalgarh DSP for a long time. The villagers could not be pacified but only after a public representative’s assurance of action against the DSP, they cleared the road block.

As per SI Girdharilal, Gaurav(14) s/o Mahendra Kumar Mali died on the spot. Another student Sonu Pancholi(14) sitting on the front seat displayed courage by taking out the students from the bus. Sonu also got injured in the incident. It is said that Sonu jumped out of the broken glass and assisted the other students in coming out of the bus. Some hotel employees from a nearby hotel also helped in taking the children out of the school bus.

Gaurav, the child who died, was sitting on the last seat of the bus. He was thrown out with a jerk when the bus overturned and got pressed under the bus. He could be pulled out only half an hour later with the help of police but by that time he had become completely lifeless.
