Second Death at Same Spot: Trailer Hits Woman Tourist Near Ghasiyar Temple
A 55-year-old woman tourist from Meerut died after being crushed by a speeding trailer near Shrinathji Temple on the Gogunda–Pindwara Highway raising serious concerns about road safety in the area
Udaipur, Feb 10, 2026 - For the second consecutive day, a speeding trailer on the Gogunda–Pindwara Highway claimed another life outside Shrinathji Temple at Ghasiyar today, February 10. A female tourist from Uttar Pradesh died on the spot after being hit by the vehicle as she was crossing the street.
According to information, the deceased has been identified as Anita Yadav (55), wife of Braj Yadav, resident of Sadar Naya Bazar, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh).
Yadav had arrived with her family for darshan at Shrinathji Temple in Ghasiyar. As per reports, her family members had already gone inside the temple, while she remained in the vehicle for some time. She later decided to join them and got down from the vehicle. As she was crossing the road toward the temple a speeding trailer coming from Gogunda hit her hard, killing her on the spot.
The trailer driver fled after the accident. A large crowd gathered at the scene and informed the police. ASI Sohan Singh Ranawat from Badgaon police station rushed to the spot with a team. The body was removed from the site and taken to the district hospital mortuary.
A case has been registered and search for the unidentified vehicle launched.
The accident, which occurred for the second day in a row and at the same location, has raised serious concerns about speeding vehicles on the Gogunda-Pindwara Highway and pedestrian safety arrangements outside Shrinathji Temple.
