An old woman died on the spot when a truck coming from the wrong side ran over her. Khumani Bai w/o Dalu Bheel was alongside the highway with herd of goats near Dhikli village which falls under Pratap Nagar area. A truck lost control and took to the side where this lady was moving. The truck ran over her killing her on the spot.

People around saw the accident and caught hold of the driver and bashed him up. The truck has been seized and the driver has been arrested by police. Family members of the old woman and other villagers got agitated with the incident and blocked the highway. 2 people have been arrested for creating traffic jam. Body of the lady was sent to the mortuary for post mortem.

The old woman was only a few metres away from her home with her goats. The truck from Haryana lost its control and went on to the wrong side of the road where the old woman was. After the accident, truck driver even tried to escape but was caught by the villagers.

SI Hanwant Singh said that truck driver Suresh Kumar Yadav of Hisar (Haryana) has been arrested. Prem Singh s/o Jet Singh and Motilal Gameti have been arrested for blocking the highway.
