In a tragic incident, a couple from Udaipur was killed when their motorcycle was hit by a tanker near Ghasiyar (on Pindwara-Udaipur highway) yesterday evening. The duo had gone to a temple in Kelwara for worshipping. The accident happened on their way back.

Shankarlal (46) s/o Jagannath and his wife Meenakshi (43) were thrown to the ground on impact with the tanker. Passerby immediately called in 108 ambulance and the duo were brought to MB Hospital where they were prounced dead by the doctor on arrival.

Shankarlal used to run a jewellery shop in Ghantaghar area by the name of Golden Jewellers and dealt in gold and silver ornaments. The duo were a resident of Kalaji Goraji area.

Their kids were travelling in a parallel activa and were inconsolable after teh incident. While Meenakshi died on the spot, Shakarlal died enroute to the hospital.
