UPDATE – Dead body of Udaipur Councilor found in water tank
Body of Udaipur Parshad found in water tank. Police investigations are on.
Udaipur woke up to a sad news today morning, when police declared that the dead body of a Councilor (Parshad) was found in a water tank early today morning.
The Councilor (Parshad) Garima Pathan from Ward 46 was around 38 years old as per reports.
The body discovered from the water tank, was sent to the mortuary by the Police and the postmortem is expected to take place at 9am today. The incident around media reports is being assumed to be a case of suicide, though the police are investigating and once the postmortem report isavailable, more clarity on the incident can be obtained.
Silavat wadi and Jatwadi near Hathipol are the areas that come under ward 46, of which the deceased was Councilor. At the time of the incident, her husband was out of station and the children were busy preparing for their examinations.
As per reports Garima Pathan was a very active member in the municipality and a strong willed individual.
Per police reports the body was recovered from the water tank that measured a few cubic feet. It was the couples wedding anniversary on the night of the incident and the as per reports there was a long conversation between Garima and her husband, who was in Dungarpur that night. Since it was examination time, the children studied till 12 and then the family signed off for the night. It was at 3AM when the children woke up and realised that their mother was not around. They immediately started a search and noticed that the cover of the water tank on the terrace was open. On peeping inside they saw their mothers body floating in the water, and raised an alarm. Police and neighbors reached the spot and pulled the body out with difficulty. Police also noticed that an empty tablet strip was lying next to the water tank.
