Wounded Leopard Dies in Gulab Bagh Zoo
An Injured 2-year old female leopard, brought from a village near Parsad, on the late night of Nov. 19th by the forest department, died last night of Nov. 20.

The animal was hit by an unknown vehicle. The Forest Department medics tried their best to cure the animal back to life, but all the efforts failed because of the serious injuries and internal rupture, the beast had suffered.
According to Dr. Pradeep Pradhan (Director, Zoo), the hinge of the back leg of the leopard was totally fractured and the animal was not able to take food as well.
During postmortem, her stomach was found empty; according to the postmortem report the animal died due to excessive internal bleeding.
The dead leopard was ceremonially put on flames at Gulab Bagh Zoo premises. Devendra Mod (City, Patwari) and a police constable were also present during the ceremony.
