100 acres of land needed for International airport

100 acres of land is required for International airport in Udaipur as discussed in a meeting on Monday.

Airport development committee held a meeting after a gap of 3 years at Maharana Pratap Airport on Tuesday. Some International flights are expected to start in the month of October for which purpose Airport authorities held this meeting. Members present in this meeting were CP Joshi from Chittor, Arjun Meena from Udaipur, Randhir Singh Bhindar from Vallabh Nagar and Dali Chand Dangi of Mavli along with Airport Director Kuldeep Singh and other officers of the Airport development authority.

In the meeting the main point that was discussed was about having separate parking lots for Domestic and International flights and these needs to be done before the commencement of international flights to avoid further confusion. Need for having separate terminals was also discussed in the meeting. The officers from Airport authority clarified that custom and immigration counters will be established before starting any international flights from Udaipur.

100 acres of land is required for International airport. Airport Director Kuldeep Singh said that there is a private land between Rupi’s Resort and Airport, between Airport to Dabok village, land under Nandvel region and that between Airport and Tus Dangiyan. He requested the public representatives to request the owners of these lands to give these areas for International airport.

Bus needed between Airport and Udaipur city

Councillor Arjun Lal Meena pointed out that there is no bus between Udaipur city and airport. People either commute by private cars or taxis. There is a need for city buses for this purpose. Even CISF and police stations are 5 kilometres away from the airport. Arjun Lal Meena requested Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria to make arrangements for police stations at the airport itself.

Flights to South India from October

Direct flights from Udaipur to Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad are starting from October. Indigo Airlines has consented to operate on these sectors. Green signal from the authorities is awaited.
