Forest department is all geared up for distributing 21 lac seedlings and plants among various government departments and private institutions. The plants would be distributed under recently launched project of Udaipur District Administration, where total 46 lac plants would be planted across district.

Forest department is all geared up for distributing 21 lac seedlings and plants among various government departments and private institutions. The plants would be distributed under recently launched project of Udaipur District Administration, where total 46 lac plants would be planted across district.

Harini V, Deputy Forest Conservor, North Division, Forest Department informed that out of 46 lac seedlings nearly 21 lac would be planted by government departments, NGO and private intitutions. The bunch of 1000 seedlings would be charged with Re.1 per seedlings to NGO and Private Institutions. The government departments on the other side will be charged with lump some amount for provided plants and seedlings.

Deputy Forest Conservor added that these seedlings and plants have been preserved over 14 nursery across district including one at Shilpgram and Kala Mata. The number of flowering and fruit trees includes Amla, Jammun, Sitafal, Papaya, Amaltas, Neem, Kachnar and other species of flowering trees.

Harini further informed that the pre grownup plants will be charged as per its height. Tree seedlings of height upto 2 feet will be charged as Rs.5 per peice, plants upto 3 feet will be charged as Rs.8 per plant, those between 3 to 5 feet will cost Rs.15 per piece , 5 to 8 feet height plants will be available in Rs. 40, those between 8 to 10 feet will be given in Rs.55 and above 10 feet high plants would be charged as Rs.70 per piece.

The forest conservor also informed that the project will be implemented soon after first rain monsoon or pre-monsoon. The 26 lac seedlings will be jointly planted by both North and South Division in respective forest ranges along with forest range of Udaipur and Lasadia tehsil in Pratapgarh District, added Harini V.
