Provision of 24-hour water supply to the 18 wards that fall under the walled city is expected to cost Rs 90 Crores. This facility is to be provided under the Smart City programme.
Smart City company board will initiate the tender process towards the same from January 15,2017 onwards. This information was provided by Smart City CEO Siddharth Sihag to Sameer Sharma, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development on Friday.
Sihag informed that they are in the final phases of preparation of the DPR for provision of 24-hour water supply. He expects the tendering process to start from January 15,2017.
Converting the walled city into Smart City is expected to costs Rs 125 Cr. Tendering process for this will also be initiated in January 2017. As part of this, underground cabling process will be initiated at priority.
Sharma also asked the process for set up of command and control centre to be expedited. Sihag informed that the process is already underway at Town Hall.
