Margaret Alva, on her 2nd day of the 4-day Udaipur visit attended a meeting of West Zone Cultural Center (WZCC), launched two books under Documentation Plan of WZCC at Anand Bhawan and inspected the Rajasthan Literature Academy.

Margaret Alva, on her 2nd day of the 4-day Udaipur visit attended a meeting of West Zone Cultural Center (WZCC), launched two books under Documentation Plan of WZCC at Anand Bhawan and inspected the Rajasthan Literature Academy.

Among her plans for tomorrow, the Governor will inspect various projects and implementation of policies in tribal areas.  She’ll depart for Kevra Ki Naal at 8:00 am and inspect the Eco-tourism site on Tribals recently developed by the Forest Department.  The rest of her schedule for the day includes inspection of the Center of Fisheries Development Center and Nutrition Production Center at Jaisamand, visiting Daal Hostel in Salumber and arrival at the Circuit House again at 2 pm.

“We need to do more work over plenty of issues for Women Empowerment”, said Margaret Alva speaking at the office of Rajasthan Literature Academy (RLA).  She added, “When I held the Ministry of Women and Child Development in Central Government, we worked a lot for women empowerment. Our focus was to ensure that women live and mortality among females is reduced.”

The reference library of RLA has about 40 thousand books, which researchers make heavy use of.  Alva planted an Ashoka Tree in the RLA premises.

At Shipgram, Alva reviewed the events while heading the meeting of the Governing Body and Executive Board of WZCC.  Alva suggested launching books based on various miniature painting styles and making a documentary about folk dances of different states.  Along with that she emphasized on installing solar lamps, working on water conservation plans, and installing fire-extinguishers at Haveli of Bagore.

According to Shailendra Dashora, President of WZCC, Rs. 7.5 Crores will be spent in the upcoming year on their plans.

Alva also launched two books, Theva Kala and Wall Paintings of Charotar at Anand Bhawan.  Based on the famous Theva Art of Pratapgrah, Theva Kala, written by Natwar Tripathi, comprises of interviews with sculptors, description of techniques and its achievements.
