3 people jailed for looting a grocery merchant

3 people have been sent to jail for attacking and looting a grocery merchant on the night of Diwali. A man was attacked on Diwali night by 3 persons. Purushottam s/o Rameshwar Purohit resident of Bhadesar Chokw near Jagdish temple was attacked with knife on the night of Diwali. The attackers snatched away his mobile phone and an amount of 4500 rupees.

Ambamata police have arrested Fardeen Sheikh s/o Taj Mohammed resident of Mallahtalai, Javed Mohammed s/o Mohammed Yusuf resident of Farukh Azam colony and Aftab s/o Shaukat resident of Mallahtalai.

As per report, Purushottam was returning home around 8 p.m. after closing down his grocery shop on the night of Diwali on 19th October. The three culprits came on a bike and stopped right in front of Purushottam’s vehicle. They took out the keys of Purushottam’s bike, snatched his mobile and also his wallet containing 4500 rupees, Adhar card and driving license. The 3 culprits attacked Purushottam with a knife as result the latter received cuts on his palm and hand. After this the attackers fled from the spot and disappeared.

A report was registered under section 307 and 394 against the attackers. The court of ACJM-2 sentenced the 3 culprits to jail.
