Municipal Corporation will soon be carrying out an auctioning of 31000 old lights. These lights were taken down from various parts of the city and replaced with LED lights.

Lighting System Committee’s President Mahesh Trivedi informed that roughly 31000 lights will be put up for auction and they are expecting an income of around Rs 50 lakh from the exercise.

Lighting System Committee will be holding an auction of this magnitude for the first time. Tender process for the auctioning has been initiated. Items auctioned will include Sodium, Metallic tubelights and CFLs.

Municipal Corporation had over last few months taken down old lights and replaced them with 28000 LED lights. Of the lights taken down, around 8000 lights were given free of cost to gram panchayats around Udaipur and to Kanod Municipal Council.
