CCTVs will be installed at restricted places to check and stop the incidences of gravel mining, said Collector on Monday. These cameras will be put up at downhill roads.

Few days back, the instances of death of a driver during barricading and finding a truck & tractor involved in illegal mining led the collector to take this initiative.

The Supreme Court has banned gravel & sand mining at Jaisamand catchment area. Despite this, the incidences of illegal mining are coming on the surface and no sand mafia is seen to be following the rule hence, Rohit Gupta marked 7 routes.

It seems that these 7 particular routes are ones where the movement of trucks and tractors is high. The cameras will be installed at the government buildings on these routes and keep a regular check.
