Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made Aadhar compulsory for any withdrawl from a personal EPF Account. This will be effective from 1 Jan 2019.

Dhanwant Singh, Regional EPF Officer, in his message to the media said that the process of linking Aadhar number with the Bank account was effective from 2015 onwards. However, only 40% of the employee accounts have been linked to the individuals Aadhar across the Udaipur regional jurisdiction, which includes Udaipur, Dungerpur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Banswara and Pratapgarh districts.

Organisations reegistered under EPF need to ensure that the account numbers of the employees are updated with the Aadhar details before 31 December 2018, to ensure that withdrawl if required from EPF Account is permitted.
