In an attempt to save the lakes from pollution and provide a cleaner and quiet environment to the residents of Udaipur, the District Collector, Hemant Gera has banned the use of fireworks inside or near by the lakes, under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The ban will prove to be beneficial for a large number of people especially the residents near the lakes as this will reduce the trouble caused to them because of noise and air pollution.

The use of fireworks near the water bodies also negatively impacts the health of water creatures.

Any person who disobeys this order can be brought to prosecution under Section 188 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The owners of all the hotels, resorts, residential units, etc. near the lakes will have to ensure that no firecrackers are used for any celebration.

The order will be reviewed only if necessary in those cases who are allowed by the officers, whereas it is immediately effective on rest of the cases till the next two months or till the next order is passed.
