Swimming in Fateh Sagar without safety gear may land you in trouble. Collector Rohit Gupta along with SP Ajaypal Lamba monitored the area where many kids were found to be swimming in the lake in the absence of life jackets and professional trainers.

Taking action in this regard, ASP Dr. Rajesh Bhardwaj said that stopping kids from plunging into the lake in this season is not the solution however, diving without safety gear is not acceptable as this action may lead to accidents. In such cases, police and administration is held responsible.

Under this initiative, if a kid is found swimming in the lake sans life jacket, his guardians/parents will be reasoned with after which actions will be taken if neglected. In this case, constables will be deployed at the Lake premises who will look into this matter.

It is to consider that the depth of the Lake is 10 ft. beyond the Paal; also no professional trainer is with the kids. The swimmers are seen using old tyre tubes instead of proper life jackets. Above all, there is absence of divers and rescue boats at the Lake side which is a major concern.
