Udaipur, May 14 - A key meeting of the District Tourism Development Committee was held today, May 14, under the chairmanship of Udaipur District Collector Namit Mehta. The meeting focused on promoting tourism in Udaipur and ensuring the safety of tourists.

In the meeting, Collector Mehta discussed implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) for traffic management and directed that an AI-based traffic management system be launched as a pilot project at Fatehpura junction. This system is expected to be operational within a month. The AI system will analyse real-time traffic flow and adjust the duration of green lights based on the vehicle density in each direction, helping to ease traffic congestion.

He also proposed that the old city and Fateh Sagar areas be declared pedestrian zones on weekends from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm to enhance convenience and safety for tourists.

The meeting was attended by ADM (Administration) Dipendra Singh Rathore, Nagar Nigam Commissioner Ram Prakash, Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) Commissioner Rahul Jain, Deputy Director of Tourism Shikha Saxena, District Transport Officer Nitin Bohra, Deputy SP Traffic Ashok Anjana, DFO Sunil Kumar Singh, ACF Surekha, UCCI Senior vice president Manish Galundia and representatives from the tourism police, City Palace, various hotel and guide associations, Lok Kala Mandal and the Tourism Department.

All participants reaffirmed their commitment to working together for the development of tourism in Udaipur.
