With no additions to positive cases in Udaipur since April 2, a case in Themla village in Mavli has added to the concerns of the administration in Udaipur district.
A worker had travelled from Mumbai to Rajsamand two days back and he was found to be Corona Positive on Saturday, April 25. On contact tracing, his brother in law, 23 years old an resident of Themla in Mavli, was also found to have travelled alonside him and he too was found to be Corona positive today.
As per reports recieved from the CMHO Dr Dinesh Kharade, the report of the Mavli man being Corona positive was informed to the district administration, following which all entries and exits to Themla in Mavli sealed with immediate effect. Over 3 dozen people, who the two recent positives have come in contact with, have been taken under quarantine and are being tested. This takes the number of positive cases in Udaipur district to 5.
Rural Udaipur is a sensitive area when it comes to viral infections, because of the fear of tremendous spread due to lack of caution. Hence the administration is on its toes once again to ensure that the infection does not spread, even if is might have affected someone already.
Earlier last week, Dr Raghu Sharma State Minister for Medicine and Health, informed that Rajasthan has become the second state after Telangana to have purchased the COBUS8800 machine, which wil enhance the number of tests done per day. This is a step towards ensuring that Rajasthan is able to conduct upto 10,000 tests per day. Additional RT-PCR machines have also been sent to Ajmer, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara to speed up the per day testing count. Bhilwara will be given the ICMR testing kit soon as well.
