50 Illegal encroachments were removed from the road side at Pratap Nagar, following an anti-encroachment drive conducted by the administration.

With increasing traffic pressure and accidents every now and then, Pratap Nagar circle had become a danger zone.  On the instructions by SP Ajaypal Lamba, a team of Pratap Nagar Police Station acted and gave a 1-hour buffer to the owners of illegal establishments to pack up.

After the buffer period, the anti-encroachment drive spanned that spanned across 7-hours, 50 illegal establishments were demolished and removed.  The drive was carried out between Pratap Nagar Circle – Balicha Bypass – Balicha Road.  The drive continued till 5PM.

Acting on recent decisions, trucks and tractors carrying sand gravel will now station themselves at the abandoned ground behind MLSU campus and the private bus stand had also been moved 200 meters from its previous location to a lesser congested area.

A similar anti-encroachment drive will be carried out in Madri and University area, as informed by CI Chandra Purohit.
