Udaipur, February 26, 2025 – Tourism expert Yashwardhan Ranawat, vice-president of Hotel Association Udaipur, and national vice-president (Intellectual Cell) of Anti-Corruption and Crime Control Committee, has expressed concerns over the neglect of water pools and fountains located on Fateh Sagar boulevard. He also claimed that parks and heritage sites of the city are neglected due to administration’s apathy. Ranawat suggested that if the administration is unable to take care of them, then a plan should be made to allow corporates and industries adopt maintenance of these sites under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Ranawat also drew attention to the plight of the public toilet located near Mumbai Bazaar on Fateh Sagar Road. He said that the toilet appears decent on the exterior but its condition inside is very poor. He stressed that development work of the city should be done in accordance with Vision 2047, which is not how it is now.

Vikas Gaur, divisional president of International Human Rights Security Organisation, and Nikhil Sahu, Youth vice-president, also expressed dismay over the negligence and indifference to heritage sites in the city. The Udaipur Nagar Nigam should take serious steps to make these places world class, otherwise the already struggling city will be in a worse condition, they emphasised.

Pawan Jain Padmavat, the Anti Corruption and Crime Control Committee Media Cell chairman, also raised concern over these issues and questioned calling the city a world-class tourist destination when the city's infrastructure is in such a dilapidated condition.
