Udaipur, being called the Venice of the East, is going to actually live up to this title once the Ayad Project nears completion. This no longer looks a distant dream.
Udaipur, being called the Venice of the East, is going to actually live up to this title once the Ayad Project nears completion. This no longer looks a distant dream.
As per information received from the Collectors office, the Detailed Project Report on the Ayad River Cleanliness and improvement has been approved by the local Town Planning Authority.
The DPR, is now on its way to Jaipur for a final presentation, which if agreed on, will facilitate a Rs. 200 Crore budget to the Urban Improvement Trust, to setup the necessary infrastructure across the length of the Ayad River.
As per the details of the DPR, the Rs 200 Crore budget will include setting up Sewerage Treatment Plants across the length of the river. Four such STPs will be setup at regular distances, which will take care of sewerage disposal at the 139 identified spots across the length of the Ayad River.
The UIT plans to construct 4 gardens alongside the river, which will consist of an Aniket each. Hence, clean water from the STP will be diverted through the Aniket to the main STP that will be located near Udai Sagar. The water going through each of the STP along Ayad River will finally go to the main STP at Udai Sagar, further treated and flow into Udai Sagar lake.
