Udaipur Bar Association has demanded compensation of 10 lakh rupees for the family of Advocate Pushkar Lal Rajak who died last night by electrocution while he was walking on his terrace at sector-14.

Udaipur Bar Association has demanded compensation of 10 lakh rupees for the family of Advocate Pushkar Lal Rajak who died last night by electrocution while he was walking on his terrace at sector-14.

A high-voltage electricity wire passing closely to Rajak’s house causes the tragic incident.

Number of advocates demonstrated in front of District Collector Hemant Gera’s Bungalow and demanded compensation of Rs.10 Lac and job for Rajak’s son. The demonstrators also expressed anger over RSEB for their alleged irresponsibility.

According to sources, Rajak (in photo above) was strolling yesterday night on his terrace and accidently brushed his hands against the high-tension wire that passes from his terrace. He was electrocuted right away.

A social group Sri Goverdhan Sena has also come out in support of Rajak’s Family and demands compensation from RSEB for Rajak’s demise.

Rajak had complained several times to RSEB regarding the High-Voltage wire and had written various letters to authorities but it was all in vain.

The Bar Association later protested against RSEB in front of the Collectorate and Advocate Ram Kripa Sharma has gone on an indefinite hunger strike.

Hemant Gera, District Collector has assured to try for a compensation of 2 lakh from RSEB. The CM Office is yet to process the file forwarded by the District Collector to decide about the compensation to the family of the deceased.

UPDATE (7 PM) – The protest was called off from Collectrate. – RSEB agreed to pay 2.5 lacs as compensation. – Rs. 2400 per month would be given under Chief Minister Scheme. – Tomorrow a condolence is called in the Court premises.
