Railway management has become alert about passenger safety. A good number of CCTV cameras will be installed at Udaipur railway station. Udaipur railway station will have 60 CCTV cameras out of which 40 HD cameras will be installed by March end. The activities will be under watch at Ajmer control room which is soon to be established.
As informed, all the required material has reached Udaipur city station and the installation work will be completed within a month. Installation points have been finalised and the control room at Udaipur station will closely observe the activities at the station and keep the recorded videos safe for further reference.
The control room will be managed by RPF who will carefully observe every ticket window, every entry and exit and each platform at the station. As of now, only 2 cameras are at the railway station. These cameras were installed around 10 years back.
Udaipur needs a good surveillance as this is a tourist city and city railway station plays an important role. Apart from this, once the Ahmedabad broadgauge work is done, the city will have more of Gujarati tourists and with this security becomes a major issue to be checked on time. Once the cameras are installed at every point, it will become easy for the station management and any suspicious act will be taken care of at the earliest. One by one all the stations will be under CCTV surveillance.
