Proposal of installing CCTV cameras on main streets of Udaipur city has been proposed by both Police Department and Udaipur Municipal Corporation.
The major decision came after a joint meeting was conducted by both authorities today at collectorate. If everything goes well, then soon at least 9 main circles of the city will be equipped with close circuit cameras to keep vigil on the traffic movement as well as any suspicious or criminal activities.
Additional S.P. Tejraj Singh said, “We have approved the proposal of CCTV cameras and will soon release tender for interested companies.”
Satyanarayan Acharya, UMC Commissioner said, “The meeting was positive and we are ready to move forward with this project.”
As both the departments are jointly involved in this project, none has stated a confirmed date of releasing the tender.
“The precise location of installing CCTV cameras has already been marked for the first installation on the 9 main city circles and streets”, added Tejrajsingh.
About the release of tender, Singh said, “Any company that will fill the required specification by the department might get the contract”.
