To fulfill the series of populist measures taken by the Gehlot Government in the Budget 2013-14, a camp to distribute cheques for purchase of Sarees and Blankets to BPL families of Ward Number 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 was conducted at Ambamata Community Hall. Today was the second day of the distribution in the city.
Associate Invigilator Tarang Yadav informed that the distribution will continue till 13th July during which BPL families residing in 55 wards will receive a cheque of Rs. 1500 each.
Today, around 500 people participated in the camp. However, due to a huge gathering, people had to wait for hours in the queue, and at the end of the day some were even forced to leave without the cheque. This generated some discomfort in the people who tried to create ruckus and blamed Mayor for conducting the camp for 5 wards at a time.
For the people who are unable to participate or get the cheque in the camp organized for their wards, a common camp on 12th and 13th July will be conducted at Municipal Corporation premises.
