Prime Minister Narendra Modi has apparently become the first prime minister of India to interact with school students all over the country through LIVE telecast today on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.

From funny stories to some serious talks, Modi whole heartedly discussed several points with the children at Manekshaw Auditorium, New Delhi and also with students in far off places like Leh, Port Blair, Silchar (Assam), Bhuj (Gujarat), Dantewada (Chhatisgarh) and Thiruvannamalai (Tamil Nadu) through satellite medium.

In Udaipur also, children from government and private schools watched Modi’s telecast. He shared his experiences and discussed school life, education, role of a teacher and role of a student.

Prime Minister suggested children to read autobiographies of famous personalities.

Focusing on technology and its need he said, “Importance of technology is increasing every day, we must not deprive our children of it, if we do then it’s a social crime.”

During the conversation which lasted more than an hour, students also asked questions to Narendra Modi. One of the students asked PM, “You saw schools in Japan. What difference did you find in their schools and our schools?”

He replied, “In Japan teaching is almost equal to none, but learning is 100%.”

While giving suggestions to teachers, Narendra Modi said, “Teachers must share an important bond with students. Students must share important moments of their lives with their teachers.”
