Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) is all set to take a call on re-starting the city bus service in the next couple of days. For this, UMC had released tender inviting applications for the same.

A total of three applications were received of which one was rejected due to technical issues. The final decision on the operator will be between two private companies Mewar Boating and MM Travels. UMC has been in a series of discussions with both the parties over the proposed routes and financials.

Both parties have proposed different amounts to be paid to UMC and different routes. It will be interesting to see how UMC takes a call on this.

Udaipur desperately needs proper and safe public transport service. With fingers crossed, we hope that this new phase of city bus service with help soften some of the travel worries of Udaipurites.
