City Buses Tenders for First Phase SanctionedThe much awaited City Bus Service for Udaipur entered into its final round of sanction, after approval of newly received applications was opened. A private company Rawal and Sons was declared to operate buses in town on two pre-decided routes.

Today, in a meeting of transport committee organised earlier this evening at UMC they gave its final verdict on restarting city buses. Rawal and Sons agreed on all the clauses for operating bus service in town, although work order for the same would be given after making an agreement between both the parties viz. UMC and Rawal and Sons.

According to Dhanpal Swami, President, Transportation Committee, in this re-announced tenders notice Corporation had received four applications with various points. The Rawal and Sons has agreed to pay UMC Rs.1 lac per route along with all the limitations provided by Corporation, added Dhanpal Swami.

Dhanpal Swami further informed that fare for availing services as per limitations provided is minimum Rs.5 and Maximum Rs.20 per individual. Students and Senior citizen would be eligible for 50% discount on fare.

Keeping in mind the parking issues of Udaipur, operator of the service have to manage ample space for parking buses. The licence to operate buses would be for a term of 5 years, in which daily service will be from 6 am to 10pm.
