City Forest Park is soon to be developed near Pratapnagar at Gugla Magra forest zone behind old RTO. The forest zone is spread on an area of 30 hectares.

Chief Forest Conservator Akshay Singh and Forest Officer Inderpal Singh Matharu gave instructions for the development of this area. They inspected the area and issued orders to make a route for public entry. Forest trails, view point, benches for public, plantation and irrigation on the land of forest zone were some of the orders issued by the officers. The zone covers an area of 30 hectares and is surrounded by population. OP Sharma, Deputy Forest officer, said that it will take almost a year to develop this area as City Forest Park.

A forest park is being developed at Chirva ghata. A bio-diversity park has already been developed in the city. Sharma also said that after seeing the Gugla Magra site, Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria issued instructions to the forest department for plantation and further development of this area. The department is now working on the POA for developing this land. After the finalisation of POA, work will begin for the project for which municipal corporation will also join hands.
