City Railway Station to use self-generated electricity
The City Railway Station will now produce electricity using the 2 solar plants of 20-20 KW each after 26th January '15. The Railway station which incurs an expense of Rs. 10 Lac per year will be using self generated electricity and the excess will be provided to the Corporation for no additional costs.

The Railway station which incurs an expense of Rs. 10 Lac per year will be using self generated electricity and the excess will be provided to the Corporation for no additional costs.
Railway has agreed to the project due to financial help from the CONCOR Container Corporation. Presently the units of electricity used at the city railway station is 1200-1300, resulting to average 36-40,000 units used monthly. The management is spending monthly Rs. 2.25 Lac or yearly Rs. 27 Lac.
With the installation of the solar power system at Railway station, Udaipur will be able to save Rs. 10 Lac every year on electricity consumption. Instead, AVVNL will be in an advantageous position.
Under the pilot project, water heating plants have been installed at the city railway station. The installation of power plant will commence from 26th January 2015.
