City Roads turn green with Ornamental plantation

The Horticulture Department, Vedanta and District Administration jointly planted ornamental trees under ‘Green Udaipur’ drive, on various circles of Udaipur including Chetak Circle, Delhi Gate, Shastri Circle, Court Circle and Surajpol. Around Rs. 1 crore would be spent on this project by Vedanta Group.

The Horticulture Department, Vedanta and District Administration jointly planted ornamental trees under ‘Green Udaipur’ drive, on various circles of Udaipur including Chetak Circle, Delhi Gate, Shastri Circle, Court Circle and Surajpol. Around Rs. 1 crore would be spent on this project by Vedanta Group.

According to Ashutosh A.T Pednekar, “Nearly 500 trees have been established over major circles of town, which will add beauty and greenery to these circles respectively, most of the breeds are flowerless plants among installed tree.”

In the project ahead, more plants will be installed on the road sides, which will be planted and watered on regular basis, added Pednekar.

According to B.L Kothari, Project Incharge, “Breeds includes Fox Tale Palm, Ericka, Song of India, Golden Juniper and Manila Palm Tree, which are placed in a pot over the circles across city. In this project, around 34 different roads will be decorated with these plants.”

The project was proposed few months back by District Collector, undertaking of which has been given to Vedanta Group, added B.L Kothari.
