Udaipur administration is going to take some advance steps towards security and vigilance of the city by installing CCTV cameras at various public places.
The Urban Improvement Trust has decided to spend Rs.18 Lac on the project while other civic bodies including Udaipur Municipal Corporation and R.T.O will also join the mass project.
District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar has already prepared a sketch of selected locations including Fateh Sagar Lake and other places. Collector said that R.T.O will be playing important role in the project. R.T.O will direct UMC and UIT for the selected locations to install CCTV cameras.
“Apart from main streets, markets and lake side, we are also considering Mobile towers as a favorable place to put CCTV cameras for better surveillance,” said collector.
The decision was taken to impede incidences of theft and other criminal activities.
