After an appeal to all Udaipurites by the Collector Ashutosh A.T Pednekar, the information center is now filled with thousands of books worth Rs. 2.38 Lac.

After an appeal to all Udaipurites by the Collector Ashutosh A.T Pednekar, the information center is now filled with thousands of books worth Rs. 2.38 Lac.

Under the ‘Book Bank in Village’ scheme, the citizens contributed unused books at the information center which will be used for education of students of government schools and residents of gram panchayat by establishing mini book bank.

Based on various genres, the majority of the books collected are of Rajasthan history, Mewar history and spiritual & cultural books. 52 English language books have also been received worth Rs. 8,622 of international level which will be used for college students and other important libraries.

Hiran Magri resident S.P Jain of Chirag Publications contributed the highest number of books- 2,078 of worth Rs. 2,18,393. Other residents including Farida Banu & Abbas Rizvi of Ahinsapuri gave 114 books, Dr. Rekha Shrimali of Sardarpura gave 58 books, Dayal singh Chajjed of New Fatehpura gave 44 books, Vikram Singh Jhala of Fatehpura gave 24 books to Information center.

Collector said that others can also contribute magazines, comics, books of literature, religion and other genres as well. The interested donator can call on number 0294-2415077 and the information center official will collect the books from the concerned home.
